There are a ton of local gigs in my area but i live in the suburbs about 45 mins north of Philadelphia. Traffic is brutal just about everywhere you go.
I just found an ad in my town for local driver starts at $22 - $23.50/hr depending on experience. It's delivering petroleum and you have off sunday and mondays.

    ajohnson Thanks this.

It seems you think so highly of us millennials, thanks. We appreciate being welcomed into the industry and shown the way by members of the previous generation who's work ethic, positive attitude, professionalism, and level of success achieved is to be respected such as yourself. I'll let you get back to your 5 day work week which is "pushing you to state of a nervous breakdown".

Because some of us value our lives and would rather try to get a local job if we can, rather than give a company 4 weeks of our lives for only 2 days at home..

    Wuss and ajohnson Thank this.

Not everyone can own/operate a truck OTR. I love running my own numbers/truck...would hate my life being local. $200-$250 a day wouldn't get me out of my sleeper.

I landed a job $80k starting just after my shoulder heals. That's also not counting my retirement check. Guess Degrees really do matter.
