Has anyone heard of them? I was offered a local flatbed position with them hauling cardboard from local business to their plant. They're offering 17 an hour 55 hours a week. What do you think? I only have 7 months flatbed experience but the pay seems low. What do you think and what have your experiences been with this company?

Doesn't seem low to me, you are home every night with almost no experience on a job that requires basically no actual work on your part. What part of the country are you in?
-
I'm in Savannah, GA. Spent most of my life in new England so I still don't know what's fair down here. I'll be loading unloading and securing 8-10 53' loads a day.

If they aren't paying you ot after 40 that 17 is too low for a class a driver. Even with minimal exp, a cdl a is worth at least 20 an hour imo
sevenmph, HalpinUout and RobJ Thank this. -
They pay time and a half after 40 but I still see a lot of guys getting 20-27 on this forum doing local work.. Maybe it will be a good start to get some additional experience idk

I loaded out of the Pratt Paper facility in Shreveport, LA
All I can say about that place is...pack a lunch!RobJ Thanks this. -
We're you with them for a while? I'm a bit worried they won't offer long term appeal if they don't offer raises. Were insurance plans decent? Edit: gotcha yea I've heard they're slow with loading but I'll be doing my own loading unloading

I just picked up the paper rolls. It was for Werner when I pulled their loads for my former boss.
Did drop the paper bales at their other warehouse in Shreveport. -
Yeah. Hauling fuel or running ltl. Running cardboard it's picking up bales with a forklift I assume, no real skill required compared to other jobs and no real work involved. 17 is not a bad place to start for that kind of workBob Dobalina and RobJ Thank this.

$27.00 might be $18.00 on overtime. 60 a week would gross $1,360.00 a week. Where can you go with 7 months and get that?RobJ Thanks this.
