Even if you have a 44,000 lb load in a van, it's how high up your centre of gravity is that can have an effect on my decision to go or no-go.
With a tall load of peat moss I stopped in 40 mph winds. With a low load of zinc ingots, I've driven in 70 mph winds with no problem, given clear dry roads.
I few weeks ago I was driving 25 mph with empty super-b hopper bottoms after we had freezing rain over night that was really shinny. Winds were only 30 mph and I parked it after only four miles as my drives got kicked out twice by the wind. Luckily the roads are really flat here.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

wind speed isn't as big a problem as your direction and wind direction
tail winds and head winds are much better then crosswinds
at least for the "pucker factor"Moon_beam and miss elvee Thank this.
