The guys i know that have there own authority for running into the states say its up around 24 grand a year now for plates and insurance. Running around onrario its around 12 a year with 5 million liability. You have to be registered for all the border crossing programs. Or I think you can pay each time for an outside agency to do it for you. Some companies can do it for you but then you have to have an agreement with them so the customa agent will recognize that fact. The few guys I know doing it have leased to abc trucking on the side of the truck. That way the customs made up to abc trucking match up to the truck a little bit anyways. They also say they run under the carriers authority while in the us. But when they are back in ontario they run under thier own because the plates, insurance and operating authority are thiers. So it would be haider trucking in ontario but abc trucking when you cross the border. It"s pretty confusing and seems like a lot of grey area to me.
Anyone a partner carrier

How much do the border crossing programs usually cost?
-
I dont know anymore. Ive ran ont only for 5 years now. Back in 05 it was 40$ for abc to process your paps. Im sure its probably double that now lol. Plus now you have to do it on your way back in too.

Pap/Pars - 250 each are for $80
On a TL how many barcodes are used? -
Should be only one. If you call a permit office they should be able to point you in the right direction costs wise.
