Oh you mean those ones who get everything paid for on our dime, yet are upset because they didn't get the 5 star hotels they were promised?
-
Well now. I didn't know they were complaining. So I just checked and there are quite a few story's about how they don't like the accommodations and food.
There are also story's of Syrian women that refuse to travel alone as they are being attacked sexually. Apparently if a woman does not travel with a man than as a few stories are reporting she is viewed as unattached and "fair game"
Thank you Mr TRUDEAU!! -
I have no issue taking in refugees but when they have next to no appreciation for what we've done to help it really gets under my skin.gokiddogo Thanks this.
-
Due to the demanding ways of our new comrades your skin and mine will be in a constant state of inflammation.
White_Knuckle_Newbie and gokiddogo Thank this. -
Did you guys see the refugees on global a couple weeks ago? Complaining about the 500 a night Vancouver hotel they are staying in? I spit my coffee all over the tv.
-
No I didnt. I don't watch TV very much anymore as I get P.O.
Since MR KW
post, I have been doing a bit of reading on it and I can't help but feel as though our kindness is being abused.
"The Syrian Canadian Foundation — made up of Syrians who’ve been in the country for many years — is working with hotels in a bid to bring in new chefs to help adapt menus to refugees’ needs."
Wow you are in a war torn country and you get a free charter flight to safety with lodging and food and it's not good enough ?rank and White_Knuckle_Newbie Thank this. -
The truck has a wheelbase around 320" so it goes beyond the permits. The trailer is a 48' box van. Overall the combination is 3 feet too long. I can move the 5th wheel forward to make up that 3 feet but it puts too much weight on the front end even with a 14,200 rated axle up there. I could maybe get it forward 2 feet and then I would be pushing the weight limit. The other truck that went has a wheelbase around the 290" mark with a 50' trailer and is 2" shorter than the legal limit.
This was the truck I was driving.

I never took it as criticism. It was a very good question that needed to be asked. I feel that the board is here to learn. Without it I wouldn't know as much as I do now.White_Knuckle_Newbie, Big Don and gentleroger Thank this. -
I stopped watching the news. I even changed my homepage to Google from MSN because every time I follow the news it just winds me right up. IMO those refugees should be happy to just be fed, clothed and sheltered. I don't think many of us will ever see that kind of treatment.taxihacker66 Thanks this.

Pretty sure dumpster was blaming 911 on Canada with that remark.
