I've been on the road 6 years now with 2 1/2 of those years heavy haul and ready to move to a lease purchase. The question, is there any lease purchase companies out there that do teams with a less experienced driver????
My boyfriend has been in a truck for years but only as a class B driver and just switched back to class A with no OTR experience.
Do I have any options to team with him? Or will I have to wait for him to jump on with a training company for the experience???

If you only want to lease so that you and your friend can ride together then don't do it.
You can do that as company driver.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I'm not jumping into leasing just so we can team. I have been doing my research and preparing for about a year to lease and it's something I really want to do.
I'm just wondering if I'm going to have to do it without him until he gains experience or if I have options -
I lease with Henderson Trucking as solo driver. Been here since november 2015. They pull Prime trailers. I was formerly with TransAm as company driver.
Prime has loads to all 48 states. They have a lot on trainer/traninee teams. The loads they give HT are only good for solo. All our teams have left. So your best bet will be check out Prime forum. Prime offers me coast to coast runs but I turn them down. I like short runs that pay well. -
Swift will allow you to lease and train your S/O after he has completed the school.

Celadon will allow you to train him as well. No company will let him jump in a truck with out otr experience. Just talk to your company and ask if they have a student trainer program. If not, celadon does have it. You could train him and they pay 75 percent of the load for owner op
Rebecca D Thanks this. -
In current market leasing is a suicide. Let's say even if you live in the truck and do make it happen, in a 3 years that paid off truck will be out of warranty and start breaking down. You guys better off saving money, buying your own good used truck and go as true owner ops

Thank you
I've been in heavy haul for 3 years now and have been wanting to buy my own truck. I'm honestly thinking trying to team with someone that has no OTR is gonna set me back.
I might as well just stay solo where I'm at for now until I can buy a used truck out right. -
Exactly don't lease!!! Not right for you at all. If this works between you and your bf teaming you will have the revenue of a team WTF will you need to lease someone else's capital for, you won't. You've said he has no otr experience he may not like it for all you know. Have you thought about just giving teaming together a try as company drivers while you become prepared to buy?
