I recently bought a 2011 Volvo 670 and looking for the best place to lease it to? I read older posts on Landstar/Cardinal with a 72% return on income and smaller companies offering 88% on income. Which is better to go with - 72% on a big company or 88% on a smaller companies? Any idea on the numbers for these rates? Any better places to lease unto?

You bought a truck before finding out where you were gonna work? Not a smart move. But to answer your question without knowing what specific companies paying you 88% it's hard to say which is better. We'll need more details on each. But most guys prefer the 72%,75% companies to avoid paying extra for insurance and such and also most of the bigger companies have their own customers where the smaller companies usually load board fish. Obviously not all small companies but some

Just called a few companies in Dallas over the phone and spoke mainly on revenue to truck using my own trailer. I agree the smaller ones work of load boards and curious if the 88% is better than a 72% with a bigger shop.

GREAT answer. Remember % is simply a # of another #.

I would take 72% of 2.25 over 88% of 1.30 . The real question is all of the hidden cost and the working conditions at each place .

Percentage is not even in my top five when looking at a lease.
It is important but there other things that I look at before I worry about how we split the take .

You need allot more info for us or even you to make a decision about a company than just the percentage split .
