As much as I hate to say it, your best bet might be getting on with a mega and getting a few weeks training, just until you get into the swing of things. I'm assuming you have zero driving experience other than the school and test?
@Chinatown will be along shortly to offer some ideas.....

Most of the companies that hire new drivers are very reasonable about your skill level, providing your safe and can achieve the proper gear for turning and can steer with out hitting curbs. Most of the better starter companies will be very critical of your backing abilities (where most of the accidents happen), they are not looking for perfection as you will be with a trainer to help you refine those skills, but they don't want to send you out with a trainer if your struggling with the basics (set-up) and possibly frustrate the trainer. OTR trainers that are good are far and few between, and they have a huge responsibility....they don't want to add more frustration to their day.
I would find a different non- company affiliated school that could give you a 40 refresher and focus just on the basics like shifting and making proper corners as well as backing set ups, especially a soft 45 degree backing, something you will use often. I know some schools don't talking about over steering, but I know as a new driver I really needed to settle down with making wild turns on the steering wheel. Think small controlled movements with the steering wheel, this will impress your new company road test evaluator.

That's what I did; during my OTR days looked for a new place to live. Not interested in a cabin in the woods or a ranch/farm; just want my free time to myself without much responsibility. Left Tennessee and moved to Nevada a short drive from the Las Vegas strip. It's in a gated community and all I have to do is water the lawn at night and the HOA takes care of everything else..
YouTube has some nice videos of the area:
