Few questions.....seems to be a very tight knit group of people....always seem to be 2 or 3 running together....are they owner ops? I live in northern colorado cattle country but you never see anybody looking for cattle haulers......so what's the deal and how do you get into it?

It's not very hard to get into. Just go to a sale barn and ask around. If you can be up all day waiting to get loaded and then drive 600 miles all night your hired.
Lalito.1234, BostonTanker and TigerShark Thank this. -
I believe there's a bit more to it than that. An old hand said that its easier to teach a cowboy to drive, than teach a driver to cowboy. Its a job that is #### sure not for everyone. There's a few threads already on this subject, might I suggest using the search feature. A lot of knowledge and possibly a lead or two might be found.
HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, MJ1657, TigerShark and 1 other person Thank this. -
There's a farm/ranch magazine in Colorado called The FencePost. There's almost always an ad in there for some cow hauling outfit looking for a driver.

That might be the only job lead that chinatown didn't already know about.

Call JBS up. you can learn the ropes hauling fat cattle for them and be home every night in Greeley. Talk with the other drivers (outside of JBS) that you load/unload with and collect phone #'s while your doing that and you'll find yourself a real bull hauling job in the process. Pretty easy. Only thing that sucks for you will be hometime. Theirs alot going into Greeley, but jack #### coming out and the stuff going in doesn't often pay good enough to get back out so if you want to make the big bucks you'll probably have to stay out a bit unless of course you just wanna haul fats.morpheus, Long FLD and TigerShark Thank this.
