Good luck. As already stated, do a thorough pretrip. Lance is a stickler but doesn't bite, just know your stuff. I've been at Toby since July 2013, ZERO complaints! Well, I got ONE...I used to ASK for a Long Island load, but now that they increased the 'bridge pay' to $50 (from $14) suddenly everyone wants to go now.
As far as the driving test, you do NOT have to clutch at all (except to start and stop of course), drive how you normally do. It's a pretty easy road test, remember the basics, like don't curb a tire, don't shift on the tracks etc. You'll like it here. I live 267 miles away (I'm 'grandfathered' for the new distance requirement) so that should tell you the job is worth it! Good luck again, look me up when you get here.
Walmart here I come!

Got a call from Bentonville yesterday. Have a phone interview Friday morning. She said we would go over my app, etc. She also said that she would ask seven questions. What are some of the questions?? Just would like a heads up and be ready for the questions Thanks for any help Marv35

Basically safety questions. Like what do you do to make yourself a safer driver, if you are in a 55 mph area how many hours would you log to go 100 miles. If your current employer was asked to describe what kind of employee are you what would they say. Those are some of the questions I was asked. It will be a 30-60 minute process. Also, if you forgot anything on your application, let them know, when they go over it with you.

Wow! I thought I was far away at 160 miles. I'm looking forward to the opportunity but can't help but be a little nervous. Afraid of mucking up something simple. Should I bring pretrip tools i.e. flashlight, tread depth gauge, tire pressure gauge etc? Thanks for the info.

Bring gloves. That's all you'll need. Oh, and bring your game, just know your stuff. You don't need to name components, you don't need to know what 'that thing' is called, just know that it's supposed to be secure, those bolts are supposed to be right, that wiring harness needs to not have any damaged wires...etc.cableguy9508 Thanks this.

I don't miss the Crossbronx Expwy. Did it everyday when I drove for Schneider on the P&G account out of Tunkhannok. No bridge pay at the time, then they gave us 25$ for bridge crossing
jtg80 Thanks this. -
So I was informed on Monday that I will be going to ATA state Rodeo. I didn't real ever expect to make this point. Usually I just participate in our local, get some food and what they are giving away for that year. So now I have quite a bit of studying to do for the written portion of the competition. Needless to say I am nervous. I have never competed in something like this.
