Questions about custom sleepers

    In order to drive one of those custom sleepers, do you need an overweight permit. I am no professional at those trucks, but wouldn't your drive tires be way overweight or your entire truck be over 80k?

    The law is still the same, heavier truck means you can haul less weight. Also, long wheel bases can make them impractical for some types of work.

    I suppose it depends on what you haul. Most Truckers just compensate by getting a lighter trailers(Aluminum). Or maybe if you do heavy haul and you have a rgn, you are pretty much always overweight(In the USA).
