Jumping in years late hoping the post will come back to life, but I recently got a pre hire with Eastern and am very excited to get started, but was hoping someone could give me some info about the company now a days. I was told pay is 48 cpm, plus a few other added pay areas, but I'm curious about miles and how well they are actually paying now a days. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The flatbed division at Eastern Freightways is growing. They do indeed offer drivers .48 cpm plus accessorial pay and quarterly bonus.
Currently Eastern is operating 2 schools for drivers with little to no experience that have their class A license.
For drivers accepted into this training program they receive a daily salary plus meal allowance, mileage reimbursement for traveling to the school and a private hotel room Monday through Friday.
The company is really trying to build the flatbed division so they have invested alot of money into this program.
The course itself consists of 4 weeks in the class room divided between maneuvers, driving, policies and procedures, and then 2 additional weeks assigned to a driver trainer/mentor where the student will be guided through the actual job to make sure they understand the way to do the job safely, efficiently, and profitably.
The final 2 weeks the trainee is also put into a hotel room each night so there is an opportunity to get away from each other during your rest break. -

While I am currently working with the school as an assistant I am still classified as a driver trainer with a truck assigned to me to use when I'm not needed at the school.
While I did spend the past 14 years as a van driver I have been cross trained to pull flatbed loads as well so I am sent where I am needed most.
I would encourage you to speak with one of the recruiters or if you live close to the NEMF terminal in Camp Hill Pennsylvania or the NEMF terminal in Montgomery New York feel free to stop by and speak with one of guys.crazeydude Thanks this. -
