You don't need to start out with a brand new trailer and you don't have to have it paid for. Put a nice downpayment on something 5 years old or newer and make payments. You could put $15,000 down on a good trailer and have very manageable payments.

Ya I can finance if I need to I just don't want to. I've never financed anything in my life and I don't plan on starting now and ruining that record over a trailer.

I used to be in that club. It's not a bad business move. You're not going to overextend yourself. It would be relatively easy to get out of that trailer later on down the road if you're not happy with the business. You may or may not lose a few thousand in the process. Things are down but it's not complete and utter doom everywhere. You can still make a living out here. Your other option is to continue saving until you have exactly what you need. There's never an easy answer.

At least two months of fuel and maintenance money. An additional breakdown fund is also a good idea. It will also depend on how fast you can get paid. Most brokers it takes 30 days. Some offer quick pay but usually take a percentage. If you're short on fuel money you could try freight factoring. The faster you need payment the less of it will be there. Everyone takes a piece if you can't afford to wait. Hope this helps

Well looking at the rates I still don't think its right move at least not right now. I'm doin pretty well where I'm at but the rates aren't great there either. Markets change all the time the right time will come along, in the mean time I'll continue to learn about the process. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to help me.
