Pittston, PA. Taking a 10 in the Home Depot offsite parking lot. Windows down, and can barely hear the highway traffic if I really listen for it. Sure beats last night, with that old long nose Pete idling on one side, and a reefer in dire need of maintenance on the other.

No preplan yet, but the ETA was set for 10 AM tomorrow. Most likely candidate is P&G out of Tunkhannock; distant second is Kimberly Clark right down the street.

My student needs less than two more hours to get out of babysitting mode. If no load when our 10 is up, we're going to spend a few hours on line 3 doing backing practice among all these unobserved trailers...

Waddy, KY. Delivered my load today and I guess that Memphis planners can not see home request for El Paso in the system. Pplan going from Walton, KY to Detroit for Thursday and I know that getting up in that area, there will be nothing else, and a Amazon load that picks up at 0200 and deliver 210 miles away at 1000, and then the same pplan twice, London, KY to GA for Friday.

Woke up to the Qualcomm getting 15 new messages this morning. Two trailer moves to NFI near Allentown, 21 miles each way. Written as four separate dispatches, so I'll be getting some $hort haul$ in today.

Then grabbing a load from that always-heavy place in York heading to Sarasota. Two miles from the beach. Will I get to dip my toes into salt water??? :)

    Toolie, UT.
I got to my pick up this morning, got a dock quick, loaded in about 30 minutes.
Then I went to scale the load.
Back I went with 34,860 on the trailer tandems.
I'm going to CA and I could not move them back any more.
He could have put one more pallet in the nose, but they weigh 2,800 pounds and he was worried that it might make the drives too heavy. He ended up removing 1 pallet.

Hi, ALL I just got off the bphone with a Swift recruiter, my question was what the starting pay for newbie was when he goes sole & way the pay was with shags & shot lauls. Her ( Nancy) said was .36 a mile & all your miles will miles will be 300 miles or more. I know from reading your posts that you swifties do shorter miles than 300 miles. I restated the question got the same answer. So if you do a 150 mile trip is there more $ per mile? I was getting very frastated with her arrgant attitude. ( in my book), are the rest of the people at swift that arrongant? & is every mile paid at .36 (you Swifties know more about this than the recruiter. Thanks I got to get it from you guy & gals who know more than the recruiter.)

Yeah ... some us are that arrogant. You've plopped this down in the wrong thread. If you're going to be successful, you need to be cognizant of your surroundings and pay attention to detail.

I'll let moose handle the spelling and grammar issues.

    Moosetek13 and inkeper Thank this.

You're trying to get me banned again, aren't you Mystic.

Knoff, it is a sliding pay scale.
I forget exactly how much, but the cpm increases 1 or 2 cents per mile for every 100 or so miles for loads under 4 or 500 miles.
So you would make .36 for a load 400+ miles, .38 for loads between 300 and 400, .40 for loads between 200 and 300, etc.
Loads under 100 miles also get $25 short haul pay.

Don't quote me on those amounts, they are just an example of how it works.

And Mystic is correct. This is the wrong thread for these types of questions.
    Read the subject title.

    I'm at the Sparks Petro.

Not much except a sucking sound concerning my recent gambling in Wendover. Oh well.
It's been a nice day though.

Yes that happened to me once in Wendover, was all excited and happy about $10 discount buffet, that I went to the nearest slot machine and donated $60, will never do that again.

I really always lose at that Texas whatever casino in that Petro, the machines are ok, but my luck isn't.

Wiskey Petes is where I usually always win and do well. My last time there I won $9000 on a slot machine. But that was a few years ago. I have been so broke trying to pay off my truck, I am lucky to have money for even a $1 hot dog some days. But its getting a lot better now.

    Bye.
