starter issue

I had the same issue with a brand new 2008 Columbia. You had to wait until the gauges clear before trying to start it. Maybe that's what's going on.

 

Have to wait fore computer to do its thing. Normal

 

I had issue with starter on new truck at 100,000miles when was replaced by warranty with reman. After 2 months did not start when engine hot (was bad solenoid). Now I put third starter got from dealer asked new not a rebuild. I guess they dont make good parts these days anymore, everything comes from mexico.

 

If you know how to use multimeter you can check yourself what is defective. Connect longer wire to magnetic switch and check if you have 12v coming from ignition switch. Turn start, If no 12v then ign switch bad.
Connect same wire to magnetic switch relay output check if there is 12v when turning key start. If no 12v replace magnetic switch.
Same check with starter solenoid, if no 12v on solenoid output to starter means solenoid bad. Also make sure that all wire clamps on batteries and starter are clean.
