When I drove Greyhounds New Mexico was the only state that made us stop. Too bad Ohio didn't make us stop. Once a week we would take a bus load of John Deere parts from Columbus to Pissburgh. Always max'd out above 40,000 which was our max. legal weight. We'd have parts on the seats, on the floor, in bathroom, overhead compartments, under the bus storage.

UPS had a big strike in 1997 or 1998. Every Greyhound bus was probably overweight during the strike. GPX (Greyhound Package Service) had more buses carrying cargo than passengers.

Those bus lines are a joke with their maintenance. I've personally been on greyhounds and other bus lines that ended up on the side of the road with mechanical issues. Worst way to travel by far.

Yeah, but those Greyhounds are TANKS. They're made by MCI (Motor Coach Industries). Their frames are made of titanium.

Look at a Greyhound that has rolled over. All You'll see is superficial damage. When they flip it right side up, the frame won't have been bent at all. Windows and body panels will be damaged but not the frame.

I was in a head on crash on I-30 in Hunt county, TX in March 1997. I killed the drunk driver and mashed the heck out of his Nissan Stanza. It felt like I hit a pot hole.

It was a dead head (nobody on the bus). Was heading empty to Texarkana to take load to Memphis.

Had there been anyone on the bus, I'm sure they all would have had whiplash and needed $1 Million each to recover.

This good. They would have sued everybody, probibly including you.
Also, Sorry, but I think it's kind of funny that you refer to the passages as a"load"

Did you have to hand load those parts 1 at a time?

Yeah, after awhile you start thinking of your passengers as loads of S_ _ t ! You start tossing them on the bus like they're an old worn out suit case.
