There is no such thing as a driver who is "forced" to do anything. We are responsible for all our actions on the road, including breaking the law if our dispatcher "forces" us to do so.

The anti-coercion law protects drivers who are threatened with punishment for not complying. i.e. pay loss, etc. I don't think its supposed to protect drivers breaking the law from a ticket because "the dispatcher said so'.

I once told a dispatcher that was whining about me refusing to run illegal "when I'm in this truck 1000 miles away from the terminal, I'm the boss. I'll park this thing at the bottom of the Mississippi River if I see fit and there's nothing you can do about it" along with some other choice words. Never had another issue with the company after that and stayed another year before I left. Stand up for yourself...

I had a shipper tell me to leave the property, even thouh I was out of hours. I told the gaurd that if I leave and was involved in an accident injuring myself or another person, I was going to hold them responsible, and sue their pants off. Believe it or not they let me stay. This was at a chicken house in Georgia.

It's illegal to record phone conversations without telling people. You are breaking the law

The law is a JOKE! Pray tell me that without a written warning or a recording of the threat, how in the world is a driver going to prove that he has been threaten unless he runs in violation? It will come down to "he said, you said".

When I turned down loads on the Qualcomm the very next message from dispatch is " call me".
