Anybody can drive a Semi Truck these days. Convicted felon? No problem. DUI in your past? Just wait a few years. Have the IQ of a Rock? Can't speak or read English? Doesn't matter since the Government doesn't care anyway. What a great Career Trucking has turned into. Your paid by.the mile but you basically work by.the hour. In order to save Money the new Trucks you drive are nothing much better then rolling Death Traps. (Made of Plastic, Fiberglass and Plywood.}They practically disintegrate when involved in a semi serious wreck. (No pun intended) Think about it, they care more about the cost of fuel then your life and limb. Trucks used to be built like a Tank. The Trailers are flimsy pieces of junk. They don't provide enough parking for the drivers, how many times have you been running out of hours and realized you don't have a decent place to park? (STRESS! ) Shippers? CANT PARK HERE EVEN THOUGH OUR INCOMPETENCE HAS USED UP YOUR HOURS. They expect you to live on a diet of overpriced Fastfood in a daily and constant high stress environment. I've lost count of all the drivers I've known who died behind the wheel or ruined thier health and are forced out of their jobs because of health issues.Top it off with being away from home and missing what a normal life has to offer. Is it any wonder that Trucking is what it is! If you want to make a career being an OTR driver then get used to what it is. It's not going to change. Just relax and don't be in a hurry. AND SLOW DOWN AND QUIT DRIVING LIKE A FOOL IF YOUR TIRED STOP AND TAKE A BREAK! IF YOU GOT A PROBLEM IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE.THEN LEAVE IT.AT HOME. IT WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU WHEN.YOU GET BACK HOME.
