Sounds like a Swifty. I worked for them for a year, and they were like that. After 6 months, I got a spanking new Volvo 670, D13, iShift, truck was like a Cadillac, sweetest driving truck, I can't tell you. I had a family issue, needed a few days off, they took my Volvo and gave me a rat ProStar

Dang I don't know how you guys do it being gone for weeks at a time. I'm usually gone for 6 to 7 days then I'll take at least 3 off last trip I was home for 10 lol.
Starboyjim, Dominick253 and poppapump1332 Thank this. -
I work for a company that is very lenient with home time. I tell my dispatcher when I want to go home. I also tell him when I'm ready to go back out. And sometimes I really wish he'd push me harder. I get lazy sometimes. Lol. When I'm out, I run as hard as logbook will let me. But sometimes I have trouble getting myself to leave the house.

I lease and get home every 2 or 3 weeks for 3 to 6 days. I run solo and have only had one negative settlement.
I don't see ehy company drivers stay out for 6 weeks.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
That was a long time ago when I drove a company truck.

It really does depend on your relationship with your FM. Generally speaking, most companies try and give you only 1 day home for every week out, but if you're a hard worker and do your part, most FM's will look the other way so to speak. At the company I'm at now, I'll go out on Monday, and get back the following Thursday (11 days), then off till Monday again. Doing that, I made just over $53,000 last year, so it is a trade off, but I prefer the hometime

Yup it doesn't pay to take home time with some of these companies. Swift's policy it three days off and they will resign the truck. Now sometimes a terminal or DM will fight for you but don't count on it. I have seen people moved out their trucks after three days and their stuff loaded in storage. I have seen trucks assigned with the new driver claiming the old drivers possessions. Chances are when you get back you will have to wait around for a skank of a truck. After waiting at the terminal for the better part of a day, you will inspect the truck and have to send it to the shop for a couple more days.
OP most of these mega-crap companies are like you describe. You are just a number. The more time they have you in the truck the easier the planning is for the desk jockeys. That is all there is to it. With you in the truck 7 days a week hitting their average milage quotas are much easier. That is why Swift has that 3 day policy and that three days is counts partial days according to every conversation I had with them.
