Its all good.
The main issue I see (Not pointing any fingers,.. just generalizing) is that you have people who see someone else and if they dont agree,.. or do not like what they see or are doing,.. they make it their business to get into someone else business.
Example,.. say at a rest area or service plaza on a toll road,.. rookie driver sees a truck parked over where the cars are,.. or a truck parked on the shoulder. In the rookies mind they should not be parked over there. Its not what they would do or are allowed to do. So they call the police or who ever will listen and complain. What they dont know is that perhaps the guy came in at 2am and there was no where else to park. He was tired and needed sleep. So now instead of minding his own business,.. he made it his business to screw with someone else.
This is how I see the whole truck idling thing. If I idle,.. for what ever reason,.. its my business. Its my fuel,.. its my money. If I complain later about fuel prices or my fuel expenses,.. well,.. thats what I do. Its like eating fast food and later complaining about how fat I am.
No one else needs to be concerned or get into my business. If everyone would worry about themselves and less about what others do,.. I think the world would be a better place.

For the first 12 months after I started driving I used to care about others idling because it made it exceptionally hard for me to sleep because I would keep my windows opened and vents going with a fan and be comfortable up to about 75degrees, and im fine with the temp all the way down to 40degrees. Ive always had a bunk heater that worked so I seldom needed to idle. I used to ##### and complain that others idle cause I felt It was a personal slight against me. After I left TMC and got with a company that almost didnt give a #### about idle times, (PGT was fine with up to 30%) idle times. I started idling more and now dont give a rats ###.

You guys are both right and I couldn't care less if someone idles and if I was a company driver I wouldn't have the incentive to not idle either , ID go into the negatives of idleing but I don't want to start another war lol

Much of the "science" relied upon by the "climate change" bunch has been proven to be falsified. Even the actual data is not much use, because many of the data recording station sites have been developed. What was once an open field is now an asphalt parking lot...and so the temperature readings are skewed. Not only that, but there has been ZERO correlation (let alone causation) between pollution levels and temperatures. The ONLY thing the "climate change" folks have to back up their claims are computer models...which only spit out results based upon the data entered...so when fraudulent data is entered with biased assumptions as to what that fraudulent data means, the computer model spits out the famous "hockey stick" graph which makes folks like AL Gore a VERY rich man selling things like "carbon credits" to people gullible enough to buy them.
If you want to know the truth about why the climate changes, there is one correlation that exists that should be hard to ignore...but the "climate change" activists readily discount it because it doesn't fit their agenda: Solar activity. When the Sun is active and increases energy it produces, the earth warms. When solar activity decreases, so do temperatures on the earth.
...but there's no way to use solar activity to convince otherwise intelligent people to comply with your left-wing political agenda, so the truth gets ignored.Grijon, Oxbow, driverdriver and 7 others Thank this. -

@Pedigreed Bulldog I follow the same mindset. When you consider that 1 major volcanic eruption likely spews more junk into our atmosphere than mankind ever has produced. I believe "climate change" is simply a scam funded by the governments so they can justify an additional "carbon" tax on us.
I'm all for reducing emissions if it can be done reliably and if the same rules apply to all nations. On the grand scheme of things, how much has switching from engines built in the 2003-2006 years to today's DPF/SCR engines really benefited the environment when we have overseas nations that produce several times more pollution per person than us? If the world governments really cared about cleaning up our environment more than charging us carbon taxes, they'd have told these 3rd world and developing countries to get their ##### in gear.Mudguppy Thanks this. -
The indisputable fact is fossil fuel is a finite resource. We've built the greatest civilization in the history of man kind on the back of an unsustainable fuel. We can't even bring the rest of the world up to our standard of living with current means.
Sustainable energy has to be the future to avoid catastrophe.
