Does your management team know you participate in an illegal activity? By illegal I mean buy and smoke marijuana. Just curious.

 

Sent a new operator for D&A test. Said he had a couple joints 3 days before. He Failed. He called asked me if I could book him again in about a week and he said, "I should be clean". Don't need any of that crap regardless how any of you guys feel about smoking it.

Yeah because smoking it on personal time affects how you on company time (sarcasm)... Smoking this stuff doesn't define a person.. Anyone who bases how a person drives because they smoke is a moron... Your lost !!!!!

I can understand if someone is not responsible (you can get that from a drinker as well) but someone who is reliable and a good person I don't see the the issue is... I am a punctual responsible person.. I don't drink or smoke on the job and I know where my priorities lie.. It's the people who can't separate the 2 that have the problems.. No different then someone who can't separate work from home life and end up killing someone on the road because their mind is clouded thinking about there divorce. I gave up smoking when I did the US... I went clean, applied did my drug test and didn't touch it the whole time I was driving in and out of the US... Why did I do that?? Cause I am responsible and know what my priorities are..

Nobody has mentioned yet that when you are smoking weed the THC content % is different from crop to crop. You don't always get the "good stuff." I bet your pot smoking friends can attest to that too. On average, today's pot has a much higher THC level than it did in the previous generation.

When you drink alcohol, it is the exact same, no matter where you buy it. The only difference is between American vs. Canadian beer.

They are 2 different drugs. One typically makes the user mellow out, laugh at everything, eats everything in sight and sleeps a lot. The other has a myriad of effects, many of which can be classed as "making bad decisions they wouldn't make if they are sober." So you can't really argue that more people are in crashes/killed due to alcohol than from pot.

Either of them, when used responsibly, is fine by me. The problem arises when a person loses control over the drug. Now you are in dangerous territory.

 

Ya okay... Childish comments just make you look like an idiot... Some of you people are unreal... As if once someone smoke they are high all day long 7 days a week.... But I don't really give a crap in the end I know I have a CLEAN record, no accidents, moving up in the world... So apparently anyone against it is just a single minded moron... I don't live on welfare nor have I been on it, I am responsible when it comes to my employment and my personal life.. So you people are making a big deal out of nothing as far as I am concerned... I am happy with being successful and enjoying my PERSONAL life which has no effect on my job performance... But go ahead make stupid dumb comments so I have something to laugh at...

 

Your correct about the THC content... I won't argue there... But each individual person reacts differently to both pot and alcohol... One person can drink 5 beers and be happy go lucky, while joe blow beside him drinks 4 beers and beats his wife when he gets home.... It's not the drug of choice that makes you make bad decisions, its how the person reacts to it.....

I have been doing this for a long time and I have hung out with lots of people who drink and people who smoke pot... Not once have I seen an aggressive pot smoker, but I have seen many drunk aggressive people. I am not saying everyone who smokes pot is non-violent but the general census from forums and websites is the same, pot smokers are not aggressive. I don't have figure on this but go read the forums all over and you can see for yourself....

The point is like you said the problem is when people lose control of the drug regardless of what it is.. I have never lost control and like I said when the need in my life rises when I can do it I have no problem placing my priorities in order and quitting.. I have done it before and I can do it again if need be.. That is called self-control.. When I went OTR for just over 3 years I never touched the stuff, heck I wouldn't even be in the same room, car or whatever when my friends were doing it... My job is more important and if my job requires me to be drug free then that is exactly what I am going to do... If my current job requires me to change my habits for rise in management then guess what out the door goes the drug... My lift and career is far more important... That's the problem with these people on this website they think pot=irresponsible when clearly it does not.. I don't care if they don't agree with it, that is fine with me... But don't tell me that it makes me irresponsible, or a bad driver etc... cause you don't know me from Adam <----(not directed to you, just in general)
