Just a bad estimate on my part. I know I was going around 10 mph, probably dragged the rear of the bobtail maybe 3 feet?? -
So what are your plans now?Have you started looking for another carrier to drive for?
-
Yes. I've been to jiggyjobs, and applied to some of the big carriers independently. I realize now that I'm really gonna have to look hard for a company to take me in, but I won't give up till I find something. I'm also looking here locally in Savannah. We have one of the larger ports in the world and I know that there is a lot of commercial traffic coming and going. One obstacle there is that I don't yet have my TWIC card.
I also just want to say thanks to a lot of you, your advice and relating your own experiences has been helpful and given me some hope. -
The Navajo Express lady? -
Hey Str8, sorry things didn't work out with Swift. I read in your post that you attended the Swift training school..... did you pay out of pocket up front or did you sign a loan contract? I live near the metro Savannah area as well one of the reasons why I wanted to pursue the trucking industry was because of the port and all the commercial traffic in that area, but most of those companies there want 1 to 2 yrs experience and owner-operators. A few months ago, I trained with Swift for about a week, got off the truck and went home. I'm not sure if driving class A commercial vehicles is for me at the moment but I sure do miss the long distance driving and the "otr lifestyle". The TWIC card isn't that hard to get as long as your record is pretty clean. It's just expensive as hell. I got mine in Garden City.... it's good for 5 years.

Can't get anything by you.....

Yes, and the person that brought it back only did a quote without really saying anything else.
