I have a 11' T700. I'd go w/ the KW. I like the quality over a Freightliner. Make sure you always have a Engine/Aftertreatment Warranty. The engine is good, but you'll have some expense w/ the aftertreatment just like any other emissions truck. Landstar is the way to go. Yes, they pay 100% fuel surcharge to you. If it's a load they got from a broker and the broker didn't have a fuel surcharge on the load they will, "break out", a fuel surcharge for you- so you'll get a fuel surcharge on every load and it is usually based the Dept. of Energy fuel price average for the week. It's possible Landstar might not take you the 1st time you apply- that's not uncommon, but keeping trying. They let you apple once a year. If they don't take you that will give you a chance to try another company until they do take you and you will see the big difference in your weekly profit. Keep your CSA as perfect as possible. They are strict. Good Luck!

btw...you run dry van or Flatbed? Thanks.

Since this is a Landstar vs Schneider Choice thread I will point out a difference. With Landstar load alerts they call and You can book a load while driving down the road. (Landstar doesn't have the stupid rules Schneider does, so there's no prohibition on talking on a cellphone.
Pork Chop Express Thanks this. -
Ya, I mean, why can't I drive down the road at 70 mph and troll a load board? I mean, what's the big deal?
russellkanning and Bro_Dave Thank this. -

a story on the CB RADIO i heard , is that CH ROBINSON WORLDWIDE and LANDSTAR are in the same family, so your really hauling ch robertson loads
-
In the past Landstar had a lot of CHR loads, but not so much anymore. Available Landstar loads are off by almost 50% from this time last year.
-
Just booked a load for $3.07 a mile on 700+ mi. Freight seems to be picking up
