Anyways thanks to everyone for their opinions and advice. Most likely I will just go company and get experience first before jumping the gun.

Never worked there. Started with Boyd Bros in the mid 90's. They started a l/p program based on Prime's but without the big payment at the end. I would avoid a lease with a balloon payment.

Lol, that one I haven't heard.

The consensus opinion on the forum is that new drivers should get a year or two under their belt before making the jump to owner/operator. Learn the ropes. Get a couple of winters under your belt. Save some cash to make a down payment on a good used truck with plenty left over for operations and maintenance.
Take some time to read through Doubleyellow and Blairandgretchen threads in the O/O forum. You'll pick up a much better understanding of what it takes to run a business.
Although some folks do become successful leasing a truck from the company that they are leased on with, the lease cost is far more expensive than if you could lease a truck from an independent company or purchase your own truck.
"Don't buy a job." - this was sage advice from a SCORE executive at the SBA.
Never get into a business that only makes you an income. You should be able to pay yourself well and still make a profit.TheFriscoKid, Ssssnake, JojoTheTruckDriver and 2 others Thank this. -

The only reason he's "killing" it is because he's basically running a team operation and getting paid all your miles. At least that's what I'm assuming and I could be wrong.
Get your experience and move on from that place!JojoTheTruckDriver Thanks this. -

Yes I am. I was on the company side for a while I made good money company and I enjoyed it. The post from lepton1 above is very good advice. Leasing right out of training is more hassle than you want to deal with.

Lol like your truck would meet the age restriction.
