That video showed nothing, really.
Just a lot of fire, but nothing before.
Wouldn't something like this have been a top story in the news?
Something like... The driver decided to light a cig as he was fueling and accidentally dropped the burning match into the fuel tank.
Or... he stepped into the cab while fueling, and when he stepped out there was a spark that caused a fire.
Or... a fire erupted when a fuel nozzle fell out of the tank and caused a spark.
In any case, the driver was probably not OK.
Unless he left the area as he was fueling before the fire started. -
Guess the requirement varies from state to state ... but I know of quite a few stations in AZ that have some serious CO2 suppression systems

Saw something like that happen. Rising Fawn Georgia...the old truckstop that was where the Pilot is now. I was parked up front. Had a few beers and was sleeping it off.
Suddenly...BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I must have jumped, because I fell back down to the bed. Jumped in the seat ( I had been idling) underwear and no shoes and somehow all of us got out of there as the fire and police got in. Fire started at the fuel island, but it burned the truckstop down.
Can't imagine trying to get out of a Pilot nowadays in an emergency. Some moron will block the exits, "I'm on elogs...what do I do? How do I log this? I didn't pre trip!"Big_Red, RERM, Pete jockey and 5 others Thank this.
