I start my new job as a "regional chemical tank driver" in the morning. I have about 16 years driving exp. 11 of those was pulling gas cans in OH KY IN mainly. I thought I'd start this thread and was hoping I'd have some seasoned drivers look at it from time to time and maybe give me some help along the way. I will be out of the Cincinnati Terminal operating East of the Mississippi River and runs to Houston and some Canada If I choose to go.
I had a request to do a review on the company I am going with, and I will in time. This thread I want to be for my own benefit and others getting into Chemicals. Thanks in advance for input!
New to the chemical tank scene. I need all the help I can get!!!

Met with my trainer this morning. We pretty much just spotted trailers today. I didn't get to drive since my drug test results are not in yet. He showed me what to look for when picking up the trailers from the tank wash and how to inspect the clean out caps and unload valves. There was nothing that made me feel un easy about the job. I really think I'm going to like working for this company.
Cali kid Thanks this. -
i only pulled chemical tanks for a year, but the most important thing i can think of is always make sure you bleed off the air pressure before disconnecting your hose or opening the dome lid.

Yesterday we ran an empty to a customer and shagged tail to get a loaded out to another customer that unloaded everything. We had to get a tire replaced on a trailer. I did get introduced to the paperwork. I think that may be the part that takes me the longest to get right. We got word from the safety department that I passed drug screening. That said, I should get some driving in today. We are starting at 04:00 this morning for an 07:30 appointment in Louisville, KY.
