We have one driver that doesn't like to turn his CB on. He never knows what's going on, and he seems fine with that. Constantly pulling in and/or backing in to the wrong spot because he couldn't hear anyone tell where he needed to be. Always the butt of jokes because he won't turn his radio on and listen. He could avoid a lot of trouble and save a ton of time, but he chooses not to. He's been in trouble and even been called in on at shippers for not following instructions, because he won't turn his radio on so he can hear them.
When I asked him about it, he just mumbles "I don't like that darn thing..."
We make sure all trucks are equipped with a working Cobra 29 before they leave the yard. We do this for a reason.
If my truck is running, my CB is on. Always been that way. I've recently become an owner/operator. Went from Sirius-equipped Volvo to am/fm-equipped Kenworth W900. I don't miss the Sirius at all.
CB or Sattelite radio

To be honest about it neither one I only use cb at customers and the satellite radio plays the same #### over and over within an hour.

Starting to listen less to satellite and more internet radio.

Agreed on the satellite radio. Way too many repeats. Thankfully I only pay around 10 bucks for everything or I'd be out.

Can't believe this is an actual question:
if drivers actually used their CB's today, we wouldn't have 50 car pile ups. You can have both, you don't need either one blaring.Home_on_wheels Thanks this.
