WY. Sucks today. In Lusk in a rest area waiting for road to open. Been closed twice. This isn't even a bad storm. At least I have food and water.

I have heard horror stories of some having to wait a week or more but I don't think that is common. I don't think they do people like that any more. For most of us we had to wait a day or so.

Myself and another driver where given a Southwest airline ticket and had to fly, unpaid to Dallas to go to the Rockwall terminal to get our trucks. A couple of other guys where given Greyhound bus tickets and sent out on recoveries to get theirs.

You didn't get your student pay until you were in your own truck, passport? We had to wait over the weekend for a truck but still were paid for those days.
A day or two is a normal waiting period, JMWILLIS. It actually was a nice little break after being out with a trainer. We lived close enough that I was able to go pick the King up and he got to spend the weekend at home. I took him back Sunday night and he had his truck on Monday.

I got to call back Monday to set up the good ole Grey Hound since I am still a week and half out.. Hopefully 250 cash be enough till we get training pay.. all i had left after 11 weeks of CDL school and gas... Just can't wait, i am scared but excited...

Pay attention to how your trainer does everything. Not just what he says but what he does. This is an attention to detail business. Good luck

In Beaver, UT. Get to deliver tomorrow then pick up in North Las Vegas then up to Portland for a Monday delivery. This week's settlement will be really nice. 3 loads. Good timing cause I have transmission problems with my pick up at home.

It was three days from the time trucks where starting to be assigned at the end of orientation until I was in my truck and ready to roll. No pay for those days.

I had my 1st truck the same day that I got out of orientation. They took volunteers to do a few recoveries and gave the rest of us what was left on the lot.

They were flying people out for the recoveries, so it wasn't a GreyHound special to go get one.

Getting a truck all depends on what's on the yard and how many need to be recovered. How busy they are at that moment. You'll get a truck. Don't worry.

That is odd, we were paid. I would have questioned them about that.....it is training pay. Until you are in a truck and assigned your first load you are a trainee.
