I just left Swift after 20 months with a clean record. I have no bills other than a phone, but maybe I should still wait to IC when and if freight picks back up????

Did you leave without being approved for other jobs?
-
Well yea, cause I spent my winter in S.E. Asia. I'll be returning to an orientation my first week back. This working 9 months a year with a job waiting your return is kinda cool. Mainly cause I was a safe driver.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Oh so you're going back to Swift?Dominick253 Thanks this.
-
No, got a orientation seat at a smaller company paying .45 per practical mile. I hated Swift's straight line pay system. Between hub miles and the increase in cents per, it sould be pretty cool.
Dominick253 and freightwipper Thank this. -
Sounds better, good luck!Dominick253 Thanks this.

To any Schneider employee or IC can you help me out with this dilemma. I rear ended someone last September, I took defensive driving class but I believe it's still on my record. I called the recruiter phone line and spoke to some lady that told me that I would have to wait 5 years after the accident to apply to Schneider company and the IC program smh.. Is this a serious requirement or do y'all believe Schneider would consider my application?
-
I don't know but if it's on your record as an at fault accident then you'll have issues for sure.
If it's labeled as not at fault i would think it would be worth a shot and see if they'd consider you again.Dominick253 and FallingLeaf Thank this. -
I'll look up my driving record then. This really threw me for a loop on my plan to do the company to IC. If all else fails I'll run hard for another company hopefully a high cpm like Maverick or Prime for a year and brokerage my self once I have enough saved to start a lease and gathered the knowledge.

So my original question was specific to the IC one year lease. Do you think even a person with limited personal over head should hold off on IC until when and if freight becomes fairly solid again???
