I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Got to Family Dollar DC in Marianna FL, guard shack tells me my appointment is for tomorrow morning 0700 and I can't show up more than one hour early. Okay. But Celadon reset my Preplan appointment from tomorrow to this afternoon. When I called about the delivery appointment he argued with me.

Sigh.

 

Bureaucratic screwups are a fact of life. There's just more of them at a larger company. Still nothing compared to my military days. I remember a payroll mixup that had my check seesawing from double pay to one dollar for close to three months; the First Shirt couldn't even get it worked out. It finally took a personal visit from the C.O. (full bird Colonel) to Payroll& Accounting to get them to straighten it out. Then it was right from that payday on.

Appointments unraveled. Headed to deliver now then to Panama City to pick up by 1000. That load goes to Demopolis Alabama, not Jacksonville.

Wondering if they're going to get me to NC in time. Hot Chick's parents are looking forward to her visit.

 

Delivered this morning and got told by the guard on duty it was a drop all along and not due til the 27th, so of course it's a drop; how could they live unload it?? (!!)

Whatever, dude, thank the day shift guy for costing me half a day's running time. When I got the empty it had a leak (been raining here and the trailer floor was soaked). I got it fixed at TA, but then they pulled my next run. Been twiddling my thumbs all day waiting for a load. First time on this fleet I've had to sit.

At least I got detention for 14hrs (18hrs minus 4hrs free).

I don't think I'm going to make it to NC on schedule; it's a holiday weekend. We shopped at Walmart.

Re-sent my application to Holland Enterprises today after hopefully clearing up the entanglements keeping me here--been a real stressful fight.

I'll know next week and keep you posted. If it works out I'll be going alone because The Hot Chick will (should) finally be visiting with her parents near Boone NC.

 

I just love it when I call Dispatch to inform them of a problem and they act like I'm some sort of irritant interrupting their day. I'm not an interruption to your day; I'M THE REASON YOU HAVE A ####ING DAY!! WITHOUT ME THERE IS NO JOB FOR YOU!!!

Is it bad when the night and weekend team is orders of magnitude better than your daytime dispatchers?
