I see new/used trucks and out of service beat up 9 series trailers all over at every OC!
Was at the Atlanta OC last week and no parking there either from trucks and trailers everywhere.
Got an email from recently from Schneider advertising "hundreds of trailers for sale"

Lol.... they'll cut the rate per mile....
They have a waiting list to come to choice which is why they don't pay driver referrals any longer.

Do you suppose Schneider is trying to lose their trademark orange selling the old trailers en masse?

Not likely. More and more customers are requesting newer trailers especially for those really heavy paper loads. Some customers have photos of forklifts falling through older trailers and with how vigorously maintained Schneider keeps them I wouldn't want to be the loader at some of these customers. Just this week I picked up a 150xxx preloaded trailer from the memphis terminal that had 2 flat tires and the rest low on air. Funny thing was, according to the shop it had just been in for its annual inspection and pm not even 6 hours prior. Shop foreman shakes his head and says "he had a long list started regarding that mechanic". Plus the older trailers aren't going to make the cut for going into cali with the new carb rules.
