Anybody have experience with the new air disc brakes? They say they stop better than drums and I like the fact that they don't use slack adjusters and MTO/DOT can't get you for an out-of-adjustment.
But how do they hold up as far as reliability? Any problems with seized pistons in the calipers, or sliders getting corroded and sticking?
Love to hear the good and bad.
Thanks.

We have 4 Pete's with Bendix air disc. So far so good, no issues. The pads are expensive, but we haven't had to change any yet. They have around 100K miles now and the pads are still around 75%. I did have to do a few wheel seals with them and you do have to remove the calipers to do that. Not hard, but a little more work than if they had drums.
We've had zero issues, but not many miles either.areelius Thanks this. -
Thanks Grape Ape. Just trying to get a gauge on if they are worth the extra purchase cost.

YES,they are worth it,specially if you can have them with EBS.
Stopping power is much better.
Cheaper......depends on how you use and maintain them. -
I drive a truck and trailer with disc brakes hauling 64000kg and they work way better than drum brakes.
Not sure on the life span comparison.areelius Thanks this. -
Anything thay helps you stop faster is worth the extra cost. I'm just waiting for an adapter plate to come out and I'll slap them on this old truck.

They are great. Provide a much quicker, smoother, controlled stop especially when paired with a disk brake trailer.
My previous truck had about 475k when the OEM front pads were changed. They still had a small amount of pad left. -

What is kg, pushing legos in the sand box? Ha Ha! The only ones here are on the steer axle. We just do the maintenance and they are bad for business. 4-500,000 miles and have not touched one yet. Those trucks also run on dirt every day. Air disc in the concrete business years ago were bad and probably still are.

Hahahaha. I had a chuckle too.
