Better make #### sure those tires don't touch anything when turned. DOT will check for that. Or you could try 315s instead, A little wider but not as much as a 385.

 

Off set wheels will get the tire away from the steering arm. But by careful! Putting 315 ' s like I run or 385 ' with off set wheels on a 14600 axle or less puts alot of load on your outer wheel bearings. It will and does shorten the bearing life.

 

I have run 385/65's for the last 14y.
Never any bearing problems.
The twin truck to mine did have a failed bearing.That one is on skinny tires.

 

Do you run weight on them. I'm always at 13000 or more.

 

Between 15000 to 16000lbs.Axle is rated for 17000lbs

 

That's why, you have the bigger bearing than a 14600 or less has. Like I stated the 14600 or less steer axles have the smaller outer bearing .

 

Correct sir.But as i stated the twin truck to mine has the same axle as mine but runs "normal" front tires.
And that one did break a bearing.
My point being...........there are no garantees.
