Better make #### sure those tires don't touch anything when turned. DOT will check for that. Or you could try 315s instead, A little wider but not as much as a 385. -
Off set wheels will get the tire away from the steering arm. But by careful! Putting 315 ' s like I run or 385 ' with off set wheels on a 14600 axle or less puts alot of load on your outer wheel bearings. It will and does shorten the bearing life.
-
I have run 385/65's for the last 14y.
Never any bearing problems.
The twin truck to mine did have a failed bearing. That one is on skinny tires.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Do you run weight on them. I'm always at 13000 or more.
-
Between 15000 to 16000lbs.Axle is rated for 17000lbs
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
That's why, you have the bigger bearing than a 14600 or less has. Like I stated the 14600 or less steer axles have the smaller outer bearing .
-
Correct sir.But as i stated the twin truck to mine has the same axle as mine but runs "normal" front tires.
And that one did break a bearing.
My point being...........there are no garantees.
