I have same heavy specs pulling super-b trains. 140,000 lbs gross, if I stayed on dry pavement I maybe able to get by, but I load out in farmers fields and it takes a lot of torque to get that much weight rolling on soft soil.
My last truck only had 40,000 lb rears and after two years it blew out all the bearings in the front diff. Plus the lighter rears would push 300 degrees climbing the mountains, 46k's stay much cooler.

That and traction on a tridrive is far superior to a tandem. All 3 diffs and inter axle locked in you can power through just about anything without chains.

I learned real quick driving a tri drive winch tractor moving rigs that if I chained up all six and locked everything in I could go farther in the mud than anything else could come get me when I got stuck.
