I'm into my 16th month on the program. It seems to run in streaks for me...having to deadhead asinine amounts of distance for an empty...loads that disappear...etc. Went through that a few weeks back. But my whole thing is that after driving for most of the last 20 years, I've just had it up to yonder with what the whole industry has become. Personally, I can't wait to walk away from trucking lock, stock, and trailer.

If you drop a load at a customer and they have MTs you can take one regardless of what box or your ICA says as long as your next pick up is less than 100 mi away.
In stead of spending these first few weeks trying to make money, spend your time learning how to make money. Those hrs spent on the load board will pay off if you use them to study the board.
The old saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." It counts triple here. If you try to chase hot loads and bypass good loads that are already there, you will probably wash out.JCB & Associates, tazman74, big99gt and 1 other person Thank this. -

I'm considering schneider lease purchase.....how are the rates in georgia? The augusta area to be exact

I rarely even look at unconfirmed loads and I do just fine.
Many loads appear on the board without going through the unconfirmed status on the board.
Playing the uncomfirmed load game will drive you crazy.
Think you'll camp on that $2 load from NJ-OH.. yeah you and 500 other ICs are doing the same, plus trucker wives sitting at home refreshing the board.
You can play that game if you want but it's rare you'll win unless literally you have someone working for you to refresh the board every second to catch it because that's pretty much what you're up against.JCB & Associates Thanks this. -
How are the loads and rates coming out the south?
-
Low, SNI strongest freight base is Mid West
Stanb23003 Thanks this. -
Going to the NE it's great.. Going Midwest soso.. Going to TX it's decent.. Coming to the south from NE sucks.. Midwest to South is good.. TX to South sucksTheFriscoKid, JCB & Associates and Stanb23003 Thank this.

So my best bet would be to get a load from the house and stay Midwest til I'm ready to come home.
