I am a one truck, two trailer and one driver (me) owner operator.
I do all my own maintenance including brake work.
Where are you guys getting the training to get a air brake certification for your files.
I was hoping for a online deal.
Any Info would be great.
Thanks Mike

I don't know what " they're " all doing, but here's an idea. Local tech school. Just for the air brake cert.
Back when I was in tech school for heavy equipment mechanic we all had to get air brake certified. Fairly simple deal if I rember correctly. -

Would you look at that.

?
I've never heard of having to get certified to change brake shoes. -

Parts stores offer it in my area. I took it at fleetpride. My boss (at the time) paid $10/person, they fed us fried chicken, we learned about brake systems.
Wasn't a bad way to spend a couple of hours after work.feldsforever Thanks this. -
It's not so much to change, rather if they put you out of service for brakes, with certification, you can adjust them. I worked for a company that gave me a card. The test went like this "Do you know how to adjust brakes?" "Yes" "here's your sign" I mean "here's your card"!RSB34 Thanks this.

I see. So how did you guys adjust your brakes at the top of the hills back in the days of manual slack adjusters?
