The ONLY way to stay out of hole as lease driver is to stay out for your 90 days with no home time. Then after 90 days you can be a Coach/Trainer. Trainers can take home time because they will run them 4000 miles a week. Lease Purchase as a solo driver is impossible to make money at TransAm.
It takes 1800 miles a week just to stay out the hole. As Solo driver you only do 2000 to 2800 miles a week. So when you go home you will be lucky to get 1500 miles that week.Last edited: Sep 27, 2015

Everyone knows that there's currently a class action lawsuit pending against TransAm and their lease purchase program in regards to how they classify their lease operators right? I'm part of the lawsuit. Not sure how many more people joined up. Basically it states that TransAm incorrectly classified their lease operators as contractors rather than employees and therefore paid us less than minimum wage. Because TransAm assigns loads to lease operators rather than letting them pick loads, that constitutes an employee rather than a contractor. You'd be foolish to ever lease a truck from this company. I was a company driver for them in 2008. Dispatch ran me back through Olathe because truck was due to be traded. Cleaned out the truck, talked to dispatch and got the "we don't have any company trucks at the moment" line. Was told it would be 2 weeks before a new truck became available or I could lease and be back on the road by Friday. Scammed. They got me. Took me 4 months before I saw a paycheck and by that time I had already decided as soon as I could get at least 2 weeks with a paycheck, I was walking away from that lease. #### near went bankrupt.

I fell for the Lease deal in september and left them in december. Only had 2 weeks where I was in negative. But their lease program is deceiving.
