    It would be nice if everyone could go back to an even playing field instead of "who's got the bigger badder radio".

    I think ensuring a radio is right on tune/frequency and so forth is a good idea, but not trying to wring every last half watt out of it. That's where folks get carried away and end up with garbage sounding radios.

    It would also be nice if we could get back to QSL cards and that whole comraderie scene, instead of the "shut-up stupid" and "cb karate" crap

    I dunno. If you've ever taken a radio apart and put it back together, you know how sometimes, there'll be parts left over. If you take it apart and put it back together enough times, eventually you'll have enough spare parts to build another radio.
