As you learn the areas and you become more efficient, $85K to $95K is in the ballpark for LTL. I was on track for $95K when I left. Your best bet at Fridays off is the PTP fleet. Some PTP guys are running Sun AM to Thur PM but nobody on LTL has consistent early in's on Fri. Income is in the $60K to $65K range in PTP with some guys doing a little better.

This is very accurate information. I'm not out of leesport. But, I have spent years on LTL and 3 on PTP in a southern location. He hit the nail on the head with the way operations work.
And on PTP, It's very common to leave on Sunday AM and get back early to midday Friday. Even a Thursday night now and then. But also, it's possible If scheduling gets a monkey wrench in it, it could be Saturday getting back. And more likely than not, operations wants PTP back out soon as 34 is up maybe giving and extra 4-8hrs on it.(varies at each location) Still a good job, with better pay than most.

This is about what the guys in Arcadia say. I'm on ptp as well, so I can't speak to how ltl works exactly, but have z good idea. I leave monday mornings, and am usually back by noon Saturday. It all depends on how the loads fall. The ltl loads are never the same, close, but never the same.

Why I love it here... it's Private fleet, it's not "normal trucking" ptp is closer to "normal trucking" but it's not bad. Great equipment, great people, most of whom are happy to work here. Make a great wage for the amount of work being done. I'm much more relaxed here, not worried about the future like I used to be.

I was wondering about the Mesquite TX PTP.....Can anyone give me insight on this area....I heard it was mostly TX any feedback would be appreciated....Mesquite TX is in the Dallas area....I was told it hasn't been opened long....

Let me start by stating the obvious..no trucking job is perfect or even mostly good....trucking is full of inherent problems both with the industry itself and the stresses of driving for a living. That said, I want to post what I have learned about this company and as I can, my experiences as a new hire. My background: I came into trucking in my late 50's. I worked in the building trades for most of my life climbing (sometimes by my raw fingers) up to the place where I owned a small homebuilding business. I was blessed with being able to work in something I really loved, I've built a lot of houses for some really nice people over the years. Short part of the long story is that I closed up shop after the housing bubble burst and I needed to find another way to make a living.
My 1st trucking job was with Schneider as an otr driver. After about a year I was ready to move on. As it turned out Schneider took on a flatbed account for a glass company close to where I live so I transfered there and pulled a flatbed with crated glass to construction sites mostly in downtown metro areas. About the same time I moved to the glass account I applied to Ashley and was asked to come in for a road test. After thinking about it I decided to give the flatbed a year and see how it went. A year turned into 2 and a half. I left Schneider earlier this year, took some time off and applied with Ashley again a couple months ago. Anyways that's my back story.
I've been around a while and I can tell you this is not your average trucking company. I am really impressed. It is a very large and growing privately owned furniture manufacturing company with both company owned and licensed stores that sell their product. They have a 600 plus fleet of trucks with drivers that move product to the stores and in and out of their production plants. They also use private carriers they contract with. We were told in orientation they want to expand their truck fleet by several hundred drivers.

@flyingmusician is a driver for Ashley, he seems to get along really well there. I'm sure he'll be interested in this thread, as well as many others. I'm comfortable and happy where I'm at, but if I were to look for a change Ashley would be on top of this list. It's nice to see a strong Private Fleet out there compensating their drivers well.
