You forget the maroons who wrote and pushed this reg through have a hard time grasping that we may drive further between one town to the next than they do all day. Reality is a foreign concept to those in DC.

Well one thing......again in my opinion that has changed is the mentality of the drivers out here these days. Speaking in terms mainly of company drivers, but then again it's more of the companys fault for putting that mentality into the drivers heads. That being pay a driver .36-.40/CPM and they will run they will run as hard as you push them because the more they run the more money they make. Instead the drivers need to find decent companys and they are out there that pay worth a crap such as somewhere around .50/CPM $30 a drop / Pick and breakdown pay, extended layover pay,Etc. To where a driver don't have to run like a raped ape in order to make a living and then maybe drivers wouldn't think they have to run illegally to make a living. I am the last one that wants the government to get into anymore of our business but instead of choking us to death with regulations maybe they need to look into the way the company are managing drivers. I don't know what do you all think my thinking pay us a decent wage give us affordable benefits and a decent retirement I kind of think the mentality of having to run it illegal to make a living would fade away maybe it's just me
peterd and sourdiesel Thank this. -
Being that I can no longer leave the state in a truck due to my insulin dependent exemption and that the majority of my stuff is within 150 airmiles and all ag. IE potatoes. Also given that we get to run ag exempt for this. I don't need to log anything. Just need a form for truck inspection and that is it.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
You're a fool if you believe that.
There were far less issues, far less accidents, when us old timers ran the way we wanted.
Now you're going to be left with nothing but the dangerous new age punk like yourself that has no business driving a big rig period. All these laws mean nothing. They're a smokescreen. The real problem is people like you being allowed behind the wheel. Now that's all the roads will be left with when all us 'TRUCK DRIVERS' leave.BoostedTeg Thanks this. -
The problems are all you company drivers. Leave the Trucking to the the truckers and not all these big companies hiring steering wheel holders and there's no need for all these regulations. Period.
And that's what this all comes down to. Plain and simple. -
So what do you guys on elogs do when you gotta stop for 10 or 34 being let's say an hour away from your home?
-
Son I have been out here when you were probably still pooping yellow in your diaper. I am sure the farthest thing from a steering wheel holder.and I am a company driver. When you grow up and stop thinking that shiny fast trucks and having to run yourself in the ground to make a living is what it's about. Then you can come back and tell us what you think there billy big rigger. Until then if you still think that you have to run illegal to make money then you need to change jobs.its attitudes like your is the reason we have all these regulations. And if your a O/O and still can't make a living running legal maybe you need to change your business modelLast edited: Mar 30, 2016

Hardly. Your rates will be slashed over and over again. You have no say in the rates shippers pay your company. Nor does it have anything to do with what you're paid. You're nothing but a steering wheel holder. Not a truck driver. Big difference son.
This was in response to the kid that thinks he will make more if we go.
As for running illegal, I seldom drive 10 hours in a day or do 2500 miles in a week and make more than you can only dream of. Truth is, we didn't need all this regulation til the companies took over Trucking.
Truth is, if not for you company drivers working for peanuts to make someone rich, I wouldn't be getting out. You are the reason for all these regulations and you are the reason these companies can come in and under bid the real truckers. You are responsible for rates going down the crapper. Because you drive for peanuts. TYVM
So now days thanks to all you wannabes, not only do we have all these regs being shoved down our throats, it's being done so TRUCK DRIVERS are no longer going to be the ones making the money for truck driving. Your boss, who couldn't drive a truck to save his ### will be. Again...TYVM. Now take your $850 a week and sit down. That's not even a good days' pay for me.
And when we're gone, that $850 a week you make will soon be cut to $600 to pay for the next round of regs deemed necessary. Like driver facing cams so your bosses can babysit you and make sure you're not ripping them off in anyway. Cuz we won't be here to fund it for them.Last edited: Mar 31, 2016
