    Yup.
Wait until the very last minute to notify the driver.

That way it 'maximizes' the hours.

Kimball, Nebraska. Got this far before 80 shut down due to accident. Open again and then another one. Winds out of the North West at 28mph, not gusting but steady. Just waiting until morning when winds below 20 and roads clear. Still showing some black ice west of cheyenne.

    Monument, CO.

Those Lowe's loads can be a hassle.
It took nearly an hour just to get through the front gate. I guess the storm backed things up a bit.
Then when I got to the store no one would respond at the door. I finally called, and after 15 minutes of shuffling through different people I got one that said she would be there 'in a couple minutes'.
A while later she shows up, but before she opened the door she checked the mt trailer and did a few other things while I was waiting in the cold.
And this is a place where the loaded trailer has to go where the mt trailer is, so it is a drop hook drop hook drop hook.

My next load is a t-call from Denver going to IA.
No dispatch yet because it hasn't arrived yet.

It's funny, you just described my usual experience with Target loads. They can leave you standing outside the door as they just walk around inside the store for ever it seems. I got smart and as soon as I get into their parking lot, I call and ask for the mgr, and now its usually just a few minutes while I m still in the trk they come out to me.

I had to call the Target DC in order to do a drop in El Paso. The person in receiving wouldn't even tell the manager I was there because "she's in a meeting". The manager was at the door less than 5 mins after I called the DC. Last Target load I ever pulled.

I agree about the DC in Cheyenne. They load the trailer too heavy on the back. Last one I picked up had to run the tandems ALL THE WAY BACK to get it legal. Only had trouble delivering at one store, all the rest took me early.

The knee is actually doing very well. My doctor put me off work til 04/13 so I'm enjoying time with my family.
Money isn't an issue so I'll start looking for something after tax day.

    My left knee isn't.
It seems it gets harder and harder to keep that clutch working correctly, and I can't wait for an auto-shift.
I had corrective surgery done on both knees in my early 20's, so nearly 40 years ago. Good as it was, they will never be as good as non-faulty knees to begin with.

I'm at the Love's in Hudson, CO.
I took this t-called load hoping I could deliver it early, but the place isn't open on weekends and has a strict appointment only schedule.
So it is just under 700 miles for a 1000 live unload on Monday in IA.
Pick up on Friday... carry the one and divide by two... Yup, I'm not rushing anywhere soon.

Corrine, UT. Dropped my load and of course, no empty trailers. Get passed Cheyenne today and no high wind signs until almost to Buford, and then the 50+ mph gusts sign and serious blowing snow. Winds were all the way to Laramie, and then they dropped down to 35+ gusts. First coming out of the NW and then a shift, out of the SW. Sent DM message this morning to see how it looks and told freight looks good here and that he is working on getting me a load so that can run all weekend. Well, you can guess what happened. Nothing and he is gone for the weekend. Mac 30 all day nothing and then tonight 2 offers, load at 1500 in Toole and deliver to Oshkosh on Sunday at 1500, 622 miles and 7K in the box. Not happening back across I-80. Those winds are supposed to last all weekend.

Was going to try and make it until the 18th and the way it looks the 11th. If I am going to go broke, just go broke at home. At least I can eat decent meals

Was sitting with another driver last night in a 2017 truck and he told me that there is actually a invertor installed and regular plug in outlets. He asked the shop about it to make sure that someone did not install on their own and he was told that the new 2017's are coming in with invertors.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.
