It all depends on how you and your partner determine the split. Stevens will only pay the 1st seat driver then the 1st seat pays the 2nd seat.

A 50 -50 split after expenses if fair but you have to realize that there will never be a real 50-50 split in drive time. So you have to work out these issues before hand and get it all in writing...a legal contract before you start.

Unless something has changed in the industry they are royally screwing team lease drivers. "Team freight" commands a premium especially with modern "just in time" freight. You can split 50-60 cents a mile running as a company team with full benefits, 401k, and paid vacation.... Difference is only 27-37 cents, or 17-27cents after maintenance escrow. You really think you'll even cover fuel @ under .30 a mile? Much less your payment...

I've said it in the aviary and I'll say it here, the key to Alliance leasing is their fuel program. I came in with 20% fuel costs as a solo driver. Stevens usually has the miles for you to drive. Ive picked loads as a solo that teams took over when I ran out hours or whatever. Compare 20% fuel costs lets say with ATBS, and see how they think Stevens fuel costs compare.

Do you pay out of pocket for gas with Stevens alliance...how much is the truck payment and insurance... What would the average person bring home with no experience

Well, none of our trucks use Gas. They're Diesel powered :p

Yes, as an Alliance driver you pay all the expenses on the truck. truck payment (depending on the truck) 500 to 750 a week, insurance, fuel, maintenance, Qualcomm, Prepass, Tolls etc...

So, in reply to Bill Smith up there, 87 cpm may or may not be beter than 40 cpm as a company driver. Company drivers have no truck expenses.
