After 5 1/2 years of owning my own rig it is time to move in a different direction. Part of the process is to come back to Roehl as a 7/7 driver. What I am looking for is an idea of how many miles drivers are getting in the hometime fleets. I also need to find out for sure if I can do a Wed to Tue week out of East St. Louis. The recruiter said I could, but we all know about recruiters.
Truth is, it is time to start weaning myself out of trucking and this is the first step.
How are miles doing on the Home time fleets?

I run 7/7 out of conley. I usually get 2600-3000 miles a week. And my last day I usually get a couple short hauls which adds on extra pay.
I launch out on Tuesdays and get home on Mondays...not sure if they could change the days, I've never asked. I did 7/4 7/3 for a little bit and launched out on Saturdays and Wednesdays. -
I'm going to have to do 7/4-7/3 for a while until we get our finances straightened out from all the truck breakdowns. Then I plan on switching to 7/7 while I try to restart a photography business I shut down years ago. Actually leaving on Tuesdays would be the perfect day to launch out. Wednesdays and Mondays would be alright as well. What I don't want is to have to leave on Saturdays. Leaving on Saturdays means there is a potential to never have a weekend at home. When I did hometime before we only averaged around 2300 miles a week.

When I was on 7/7 in 08 wed was launch. and 7/3 7/4 in 10 it always launched on Wed&Sat
You sell off the blue lemon and leave Landstar? -
The Bluelemon has cost me almost $10 grand in 6 weeks and hasn't been able to stay on the road for more than 10 days at a time since Jan. 28th. There comes a point when you can't go any farther.
Funny thing is, I have a letter telling me the rehire committee already voted to rehire me, I was marked eligible for rehire, yet after leaving me to hang for 4 days telling me everything was all set, all of a sudden they tell me they won't rehire me. It took me an hour to get on with a local company because I'm such a terrible driver. Here's the thing, these companies need drivers so bad they are offering $3000-$5000 as a hiring bonus. Yet a safe, reliable driver calls out of the blue and you say you don't want him because he can be a pain in the butt at times. Maybe these companies should look in the mirror if they want to solve the driver shortage.mpow66m Thanks this. -

In my case they wouldn't give me an explanation. I'm guessing they don't like me, because I don't really like them. Sometimes you have to grow up and put personal feelings aside. I was going back because the hometime fleet served my purpose. You would think they would act like adults and hire a driver that wouldn't quit the first time he got home late, (yes he would complain.) You would think you would want a driver with no CSA points, no tickets and no accidents including non preventable in over 5 years. How much is a driver worth that you could stick in a truck and could do the job from day one? If your company is doing so well that you can turn down a driver with these qualifications, then why are you offering so much money for a hiring bonus?

This ought to stir things up a bit. I just finished orientation at Beelman and while there they showed their ranking on the CSA scoreboard, we could also see the rankings of all the other major companies. Swift has a better BASIC rating than Roehl.
molands Thanks this. -
Not sure about the CSA ratings, but I know I get called into maybe 1 out of every 15 weigh stations, so no complaints here.

Would it be worth someone driving 2 hours one way to get to the terminal to drive for the 7/7 fleet?
