Just delivered a GPload the other day. GP in Camas, WA was a fast load with friendly people. 45k of printer paper.

I've hauled out of two different GPs in PA back to Canada. Both times were pretty painless. Drop and hooks both times. In and out fast. Biggest issue I had was location. Well off the primary roads.

I've been to GP Big Island. The worst part by far is getting to and from the #### place from 81 legally. It's up there in the boonies pretty far which is unfortunately typical of many paper mills. I generally hate paper plants because they're heavy as hell and the facilities are often nasty mud pits out in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service. It's cheap crappy broker freight and generally these types of places make trucking suck so bad.

I hauled a lot of gp with roehl back in my rookie days. Most of them were pretty decent, quick drop and hooks. I went to big island once, that wasn't my favorite place either but it sure was a pretty drive getting there.
The worst gp I ever saw was in palatka, fl. They had the most ridiculous check in procedure I ever saw. Check in at guard shack. Then go wait in line at the sweep out dock. Then back in and sweep out your trailer. Even if you already swept it, you better do it again. Then wait for the girls to come inspect your trailer. Then pull out and wait some more for your paperwork. Then go drop your empty on the other side of the plant. Then drive back to the other side for your loaded. Then of course they pack the loaded trailers in so tight, one time I had to call the yard dog over to pull my trailer out because I couldn't even get to the crank. And I'm skinny lol.
And one time, I went through all their hoops, just to find out that my load got cancelled. -
GP Security in Mississippi wanted me to break the law to get off their property.
So here's the story
I blew 2 trailer tires trying to get my load (the drop yard there was all muddy) so I couldn't tell if the tires were rolling or not, drug them a few feet once I got on solid road they blew. Pulled to the side of the access road that circles the facility and called for tires. The tire bank said it would take 2 hours to get to me in the middle of BFE so I let second shift GP security know about it, the guy was fairly reasonable and understanding. So about 7:30 the tire guy shows up and their gate and gets back to me. He only brought 1 tire after I requested 2 so he had to leave and come back (another 4 hours of waiting of which during that time my 14 hour clock expired) I again let second shift GP security know and again he was super cool. I figured while I waiting for the tire guy to come back I'd take a nap and wait on him. I hear banging on my truck as loud as someone hitting my sleeper with a bat and when I crawl up front this short woman with security is screaming at me. I put my shoes on and climbed out. She said, "Your tires are fixed, YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW!" I looked back and I guess he came and realized I was asleep and finished the job. I attempted to explain to the woman that I couldn't legally drive any more and she said, "I've seen drivers drive 3 mph to the truck stop at the edge of town and not get in trouble, YOU NEED TO LEAVE!" Again I attemped to explain to her that I couldn't and she treated to call DOT on me, which I laughed off and asked her if she needed to use my phone to do it cause DOT would laugh at her. She then said that she would have my truck towed at my expense and have me arrested for trespassing because I'm refusing to leave. I called Schneider and ended up getting towed out of there. I called GP the next day to file a complaint and the woman on the phone was very apologetic. Just seemed to be a case of some security officer wanted to be the sheriff.
