I'm sure this has been covered but what I see seems to cover pickups that are hauling something or other. I've always wondered about the straight trucks with the big sleepers. Seems like it would be easier to park and more comfortable for life on the road. Question is if I were to invest in a used one where to go from there? I'd be running it solo but then again is my truck. Is it economically feasible to even do this?

I came across a website for a company who does daycab conversions and I seem to recall they sell the un-needed sleepers. Can't remember the name though but IIRC the used sleepers were priced pretty decent.

They are called D units, B units for the expedite world are vans, SuperBs are sprinter type vans.

There is also something called C unit which I think really is now just a classification within the FedEx and Landstar systems based on weight capacity.

    2k a week is a dream.

To the OP, this is expedite stuff, if you look hard you can see many owners out there looking for good drivers but you have to have experience. Fedex may accept you, but the owner may not. You can make a living at this, about the same as OTR if the freight it out there but pretty much it is a saturated part of the trucking world with hundreds of companies competing for freight.

Sorry I'm stupid when it comes to other units . If you go on indeed and search jobs with CC these owners offer 1100 dollar a week minimums per driver and up to 2-3 k a week . So who knows
