Finally got in touch with the Knight recruiter, said she could have me into they're evaluation class in Fontana within a week, Swift recruiter said the same. Really flipping around on this one, which one has the better cdl school ? I'm looking for a company I can stick with for a couple years.
Knight or swift ?

I'd go with Knight. Haven't read anything about them having listening devices in the trucks.
DRAGON64, vanishing point and Puppage Thank this. -
Honestly, that's about the best advice if given those two choices.

Go with Knight.
I started with Knight out in Salt Lake City.
The pay isn't the greatest for the first three months, but you will receive a bump in pay after completing their training program, (Squire).
If I had to choose between the two..I will go with Knight all day long.Chinatown Thanks this. -
neighter go do something else that makes an honest wage per hour

I wonder how many drivers take their own advice on this subject.MrIT, DRAGON64, Texnmidwest and 4 others Thank this.

I think that trucking is a last resort for so many drivers. They take what they can get.

Way back when the military had a draft, it was the same way. You might not qualify for any jobs or any military service, so you could go to the draft board and volunteer to be drafted and they had to take you if you could pass the physical. That used to really tick off some recruiters that might have a bias against some people.
I remember a Navy recruiter that couldn't get a guy in because the guy had no teeth at all. The recruiter got a set from an undertaker and told the guy keep them in his pocket except for the physical then in basic training to pretend to vomit and let them hit the pavement and break. He said then the Navy would give him a new set that fit right. That's exactly what he did and it worked. Can't get away with that stuff today.Last edited: Apr 4, 2016
