WOW! Didn't know we lost that account! Very interesting! Well...it looks like there is ONE AND ONLY ONE Cheerleader on this board/thread for Epes and that is Looking....should be Looking4anewjob....but what can I say? I actually have a few interviews lined up for a real job! haha And Rookie, I don't blame you one bit for leaving CT! I understand cams in trucks.....but have heard too many horror stories on the ones on the driver! Let's hope this is my last month! Well, I'm hoping it is! haha

Honestly, ask SDaniels! He was a trainer here and here longer than anyone on this thread. He became a trainer here way before any of you, me included, were here.....EPES HAS become a starter company....but I'll admit one of the better ones, for sure!

HA! I filled in a few days doing those runs for someone...and made more money than I usually do on an average week! It's ALL drop and hook! Goes to show again....what 50something K will do! Plus, I KNOW FOR A FACT, that an average solo driver here makes around 48-52K...if you make more, NOT BEING A TRAINER, you are TOTALLY FULL OF IT! Looking...if you say otherwise, prove it...or my point is correct!

I do quite well on the dedicated. Doing about 12 loads every 5 days and that pays $12 per load...2400 miles at .43cpm, so that is about $1200 a week give or take. $60+ a year. So ya see, I'm not your average driver. I'm a very satisfied driver, and Epes takes care of me. Like I tell anyone, if you're not happy, move on. I'm not going anywhere.

never said you were....there WAS a story of a dedicated driver that got screwed out of pay...he DID get it, but had to go through 'the hassle' of getting it! There are plenty and I mean PLENTY of trainers here that are getting 60+k a year here...that is no doubt.....but, like I said...I can't tell you how many drivers I know and, like I said before, EVERYONE that has left Epes has gone on to better paying jobs. I'm glad/really happy for you that you are happy where you are at, there is nothing wrong with that at all. But, I'm advancing my career and Epes can't do that for me. One penny more and I'm at TOP pay $0.44 CPM. If you know/understand anything about 'general freight'/'training' companies, you'd know, more miles will be given to someone making 0.33 cpm compaired to me, who is at $0.43 cpm.....it's all common sense. $1K gross a week was REAL easy for me last year, now it's a struggle. It's not me.....last long run I had was Orange, TX to Elizabethtown, NC(fayettenom area) and they gave me 4 DAYS on that. I picked up on a Friday morning and had it on Greensboro yard on Saturday late afternoon. 1200 miles...EASY! So IcyHOT, let's just say, you are a great cheerleader, go join Kim and Melissa in recruiting and recruit.....leave us 'company drivers' that want to actually MAKE REAL MONEY alone!

I wish you nothing but good luck my brother! All I know is youre making the right chess move. EPES and CT are typical dry van companies...

I found out EPES lost that account because I just moved back up to PA about few weeks ago. I was looking at a local newspaper ad here in Hazleton. And guess who was looking desperately for driver their new dedicated account?? Lol. National Freight Inc. Thats right gentlemen! NFI is running the show out of Minersville.
