Any body have any info on there owner operator program? I've read you get 89% plus fuel surcharge. Just wondering if it would be a better deal than being a company driver.

I subbed for them out of their Orlando rail yard. It was strictly a percentage deal and yes,.. even with my 4 car,. I made more than their company drivers.
I got in over my head, had insurance problems and had to get out. No fault of Hansen and Adkins. A lot of work to go around if you can tolerate getting cars checked in at dealerships all day.

If you don't mind me asking what were you grossing per week?

You have to hustle and work riculously long days to make it. Everything will conspire to work against you. Delays in the yard if the vehicle has any kind of damage or marks, it has to be documented before leaving the yard. Finding the right vehicles in some of the larger yards.. lots and lots of walking. Trying to get the vehicles checked into the dealership who can make you want to go postal while they take their sweet time.
For me, hauling cars was worse than doing reefer work or waiting on containers. My stress level was off the chart.
I had done towing and hauling when I was younger so I thought getting into transporting cars would be a natural and enjoyable thing to get into.
My problem was not with Hansen and Adkins.. but rather with myself and the whole process and system. I tried to break away and set up contracts picking up auction cars for used car lots. That did not work out any better. Its a cut throat business to try to break into. At least it was for me back then. I have not followed car hauling so I dont know its its gotten any better. Just prepare yourself both mentally and physically if this is what you want to get into.
