What fun, what fun you must be having.

About your term mgr, suggesting just get to the Edwardsville plng area, and they can or should fix your problem. Yes that's what happened to me for my last hm tym req, Memphis just moved me to Edwardsville, after sitting in Milwaukee for over 2 days. But I blame myself in part, if I had half a brain I would have moved myself over to Inver Grove Hts area, and then from there could have gotten something going west like I wanted.

But at least you weren't in a blinding snow storm like I was yesterday in the Perrysburg, OH on 80, and yes high winds on the east coast here as well, some according to the internet as high as 50mph.

Well I have to say, a 45K load of I am assuming sugar to CA, would suck! I wouldn't have taken it either, with or without a hm tym req.

Well I am just north of Richmond, it was over a 100 mile ride down from just south of Baltimore to find the next big trk stops on I 95. I could have stayed at the TA in Jessup, MD, but the thought of fighting DC traffic in the day time motivated me to just get going since it was still only 4am when I dropped my trl at the final.

You know you really got me to thinking how important extended breaks are totally out of the trk. I mean in terms of maybe a month or more, just to clear our heads, and detox from trucking and all its stresses we encounter everyday. I hope you give yourself some extra time between here and there, meaning between Swift and your next place you want to go to.

Yes, Swift does have a "leave of absence" policy. They should have it as an upfront option with deferred trk/lease pymts, for its drvr's who work yr after yr without having taking any kind or real breaks or extended time off from trucking.

Even a program that lets LP or O/O's take a week off every month without coming back to a double truck or lease pymt on the next settlement.

    Oh well....

Well this has worked for me, that your term can tcall the load where you are, then put it back on your truck. I think it takes a plnr to do it, but they have done it for me as a favor in my term, just to get miles on my payck. Just tell them what city and trkstp your at, and it should be an easy process.

So if you get to within a few miles of your final tomorrow, ask your term if they will do that for you.

Yes your situation is a warning to us all. It happened to me once like that, no del time, and guess what? Pick it up today, and del it next yr sometime, maybe, LOL

blsqueak, you actually give ratings using the Voice our Choice app?
You've now seen a result when they don't like how you rate them. Have you ever seen anything positive from it?

Moose, I have given many bad ratings. You should see what I have said about Lathrop and just last week about the planning in Edwardsville. Never seen anything positive. Once in awhile I just go on and look up terminals and planning, and you should read the negative comments, and mostly, L/O. I have to admit that the TM tried to back up my DM, but there where just too many examples. I know that it is the planners that control everything, but it is my DM's responsibility. Did find out something the other day about my DM, he mostly likes to talk directly to the planners instead of messaging them. No paper trail, and I believe, we are out of the same terminal. IGH

They used to be able to do that, just the DM, but they have gotten their hands slapped again and told, "NO MORE". There where times that I was on a long load with Friday Delivery and having a small week and they would do that so could get at least 1/2 the miles. But again, no more

As to your statement about getting out of the truck, it will be 2 weeks at home, then 3 weeks in the Philippines and then about week at home

Thanks for the idea, and I might do that in the future.
But this should be the bonus check so I shouldn't need to make that extra work for people.

Don , one of my Laredo planners told me that had become a planner termination offense about two years ago .

I guess I won't try to do that in the future either.

I don't know, they just did it for me about 2 or 3 wks ago in my term. Maybe its a risky thing to do for a plnr, maybe I just got lucky with my own terms willingness to bend or break the rules a little.

But we are talking about a 300 mi load. So lets face it, 300 mi shouldn't make or break us financially. Hopefully, right?

With 2 child support payments coming out of each check, 300 miles is a nice addition. It might mean that I would not have to take an advance simply to eat. (That won't happen this time.)
But I won't put a planner or my DM in a position of getting in trouble, even so.

I stopped about 40 miles short of my final at a Pilot in MO. I could have gone to that little truck stop next to the Edwardsville terminal but the coffee and facilities are better here. That would have been only 10 miles away.

If I did ask to be t-called and then reassigned the load from here (or there) it would cost Swift more money.
From either I would also get short haul pay.
It also takes time to do it, which is again more money lost since those people could be doing more productive things.
Maybe that is why the practice is frowned on?

I could think only of myself, but that would not do anything really useful for either Swift or me in the long run.

It is not a war of wills or manipulations, between me and the Company, to see who might get a small advantage at the moment. It is a working relationship.

Belle Fourche, SD. Actually had a customer, well 2 stops say thanks today. Told me that I was the first Swift driver in a few months that actually showed up for appointments on time. Actually I was late by 15 mins to my 2nd stop, but that is on CSR. First appointment was for 0500. Give them at least 30 mins to unload and get out of there and then the 2nd stop was 95 miles away, and it was for 0700, and 55 mph limit and some towns to go through. Then walked into the final, she looked at me, then the clock and could not believe, not late but 1 hour early.

Then went to pick up my next load and looked at the bills and asked, any idea what the weight is, and nope. It was okay, since I did not mind talking to her. I was falling in love. Then after hooked the trailer she came out to put the seal on and we continued to talk for about another 15 minutes. I Montana cow girl. Went to scale the load, all of 6K. Then a nice tail wind finally, and pulled in here, 9.6mpg.
