Yea it does seem a little short, but they give you the option to go for another week out one-on-one and they also have an option that you can team with someone that has more experience for up to six months.

I for one think the one week is perfect. I am the kind of person that will pick it up as I go. I personally don't feel shorted but I do see where your coming from.

    Are you on the road?
Starting out don't stress over miles, money, or using all your 14 and 11.
Work at building a safe and consistent pattern that keeps you productive and most of all keeps you in touch with your happy place.
Many parts of this industry absolutely sucks, as does too large a percentage of the drivers. Allow yourself time to adjust to this crazy train and don't get aggro, or fat and lazy.
Unless you feel this is not your path forward stay with the pumpkin for a full year before testing the waters.

Yep^^^^. They say we have 11 hrs to drive. No. As I do it, there is roughly 10 hrs to drive for THEM. 1 hr to bank if my park plan ####s the bed. ALWAYS leave cushion to save your log. And prevent a violation. Same with setting ETD's. If we have a 3 hr window in front of the acual time then use some of it.

Also, scroll through the routing navigo gives you to see if there is a route that stays on interstate as much as possible. SNI is cheap. They will suggest routing that is shorter on paper but IN THE REAL WORLD not so much. If you can take a turnpike they pay for , DO IT. Saves loads of time.

Their equation they give you to figure out time for pick up and delivery, use it and that will help you get to that 3 hour early arrival.

Especially for those times when you get rushed and don't check the route and Jill takes you through scenic US 127 from Kentucky.

Just a week. You can be teamed with a mentor for longer to get what you need down but orientation otr with a te is just a week.

I actually have a new "system" since I have shower power...I swipe my card and use a perfectly clean shower and rest room for the BM...and of coarse if you want to shower later in the day just say your team driver is in the truck and presto they give you another free shower...no more nasty bathrooms...
